What makes Amara different?
Nutrition protection technology (NPT) preserves whole foods in their original structure. With the help of NPT, the whole-food ingredients we use retain their original flavor, texture, and color — and because NPT doesn’t fundamentally alter food composition, Amara baby foods contain less natural sugar.
Our products contain no binding agents and no added sugars. We always use the best whole ingredients to bring the benefits of fresh, homemade food direct to your table — with all the ease and convenience of packaged food. We promise that you and your baby will see, smell, and taste the difference.
Are you certified organic?
Yes, of course! All our baby food meals and snacks are certified organic and non gmo.
Are you non-GMO certified?
Yes! All of our ingredients are certified GMO-free.
How do you source your ingredients?
We source all of our ingredients individually and directly from manufacturers — we buy our produce primarily from within the U.S., with some ingredients (like mango!) coming from the Americas or Europe. Our ingredients are all certified organic, picked at peak harvest (when they are most nutrient dense and flavorful), and mostly plant-based.
Why powder?
Amara’s designed with your baby in mind. Customized for your baby’s development - just mix with breastmilk, formula or water to the consistency that’s right for your baby. NPT technology removes water from whole foods to ensure shelf stability — as a result, our powder baby food is rich in nutrients and flavor. It’s easy to prepare, easy to store, and requires 12x less packaging!
Do your products contain heavy metals?
Every one of our suppliers meets annual third-party federal requirements and compliance regulations for heavy metals and organic certification, as well as food safety benchmarks and external food safety audits established by the U.S. Department of Agriculture and the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. Heavy metals exist naturally in soil and water and are found in all foods that grow in the ground (aka, fruits, veggies, and grains). At Amara, we use certified organic, non-GMO ingredients and don’t use any fillers like added sugar or tapioca starch. Does Amara use repeated high heat?
No, instead of the repeated high heat treatments used to produce traditional baby food jars and pouches, our methods ensure that foods hold onto their original tastes, flavors, and textures — plus, our Nutrition Protection Technology science (NPT for short) does not alter the sugar concentration.
Are you kosher certified?
At this time our products do not have Kosher certification.
Are your products safe from mold?
Yes! Since our production process removes water, you can rest assured that our products are very safe from mold.
Is Amara safe?
Yes — we test each and every batch of food to ensure it’s safe for your baby… and anyone else in your family!
Are your products gluten-free?
All of our snacks are gluten-free.
Do Amara products need to be refrigerated?
Nope! You don’t have to worry about keeping Amara pouches cold, refrigerating, or thawing — you can simply store at room temperature. We know parenting can be unpredictable; Amara is designed to be ready wherever and whenever you need it.
Baby Food
How should I store Amara products?
Amara organic baby food should be stored in a dry, cool place at room temperature.
How long do Amara products last?
Amara baby food has a shelf life of roughly 18 months, and there is an expiration date printed on each box for your convenience. Once opened and mixed with liquids to form a puree, Amara baby food should be stored and used in the same manner and time frame as any other fresh, homemade food. We recommend keeping leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 24 hours.
How do I prepare Amara baby food?
Our baby food pouches are designed to be mixed with water, formula, or breast milk — simply add in and mix! It’s easy to adjust the consistency of your puree by changing the amount of liquid you stir in (more liquid for a thinner, lighter puree and less for a thicker, heftier blend). In general, we recommend adding 4-5 tablespoons of liquid to one pouch of Amara baby food powder.
When can babies start Amara?
Pediatricians recommend that babies start consuming solid foods alongside breastmilk or formula between 4-6 months. See here for more about readiness signs and getting started!
What is the numbering system on your boxes for? Where did it come from?
The age ranges printed on every Amara Organic Baby Food box are loose suggestions based on input from our nutrition scientist — but you needn’t necessarily feel beholden to them. Every baby is unique in its nutritional needs and readiness, and no one knows your baby better than you! Because Amara is fully customizable, you can feel great about introducing any of our baby food purees throughout your starting solids journey.
Should Amara baby food replace feeding or nursing sessions?
Amara is designed to mix with either formula, breastmilk, or water so every puree is boosted with added nutrition and helps make the transition to solid foods more smooth and nourishing for everyone. Generally speaking, babies — especially younger babies who are just starting out with solids — still need to nurse and/or take bottles after eating (or in between meals), because solid foods do not become the primary source of nutrition until around the first year. I’m new to Amara Baby Food — where should I start?
Welcome! A great place to begin is with our Introduction to Solids Variety Pack, featuring both savory and sweet flavors that are perfect to start introducing baby food.
How do I know what flavor to choose for my baby?
There’s no right or wrong answer to this question, and that’s exactly why we have a variety of exciting options available. Our organic baby food line features a range of whole-grain cereals, plant-based proteins, and veggie-forward blends that all deliver the complete nutritional package — plus each one is fully customizable in terms of texture. If you’re still not sure what to try first, we offer a number of variety packs, including Introduction to Vegetables, Introduction to Superfruits, Introduction to Solids, a Veggie Sampler, and a Breakfast Variety Pack.
I’m looking for stage 1 baby food — what should I get?
With Amara baby food, you can make every food into a stage 1, 2, or 3 puree, depending on your baby. By simply adjusting the amount of liquid you add, you can control the texture and thickness of your baby’s food all on your own! Our most popular option among parents just starting out is the Introduction to Solids Variety Pack.
How do I know if my baby will like Amara?
Every baby is different in what tastes they prefer — even from day to day — and it can sometimes take several tries for a baby to enjoy a food (up to 10 times). It’s hard to predict what any baby will love at any given moment, but we are proud to offer your family nutritious, wholesome food that tastes like the real deal and exposes your baby to the tastes and textures of fresh fruits, vegetables and homemade dishes.
I’m following baby-led weaning (BLW) — can I still use Amara?
Absolutely! On the side of every Amara baby food box are simple recipes for finger foods such as pancakes, muffins, or chewy cookies that are perfect for self-feeding. Our natural textures also provide the perfect practice for self-feeding with a spoon.
Can I send Amara to daycare?
Absolutely! Depending on your daycare’s policies, you can either send in pouches to be prepped in real-time or prepare your baby’s food in the morning to send in sealed containers.
Can I prepare a package of food in the morning for later in the day?
Yes, definitely — once prepared, Amara baby food is no different from any fresh food, so we recommend storing it in the refrigerator or a refrigerated food container (such as an insulated lunch box with an ice pack) and using it within 24 hours.
Can older children eat Amara?
You bet! Amara is 100% safe for older children, too! There are so many ways that Amara baby food can grow with your children. You can always keep using Amara as a puree — many of our customers love the oats and berries, for example, as a natural, flavorful alternative to instant oatmeal packs. Our own children love using Amara purees as mix-ins/sauces or as veggie dips; and, every box comes with a simple toddler finger food recipe that’s easy enough for even young children to help prepare, such as pancakes. Yum!
Is your baby food safe from allergens?
Yes, all of Amara’s baby foods are made without any of the top nine allergenic foods as identified by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (milk, eggs, fish, shellfish, tree nuts, peanuts, wheat, sesame, and soybeans).
How much food is in a pouch?
Once prepared with liquid, Amara organic baby food pouches produce 3 - 4 oz. baby food each. (For reference, standard jars of baby food at the grocery store range from 2.5 - 4 oz.)
How much does Amara baby food cost per meal?
Our organic baby blends are $1.50-$2.20 per meal because we believe healthy baby food is for everyone.
Toddler Smoothie Melts
At what age is it safe to feed my child smoothie melts?
Every baby is different, but on average many are ready to try Amara smoothie melts around 10 months of age. It’s important that your baby can sit independently, pick up and eat finger foods on their own, and chew/mash food well in their mouths before offering smoothie melts. The product is carefully designed to melt in the mouth, but we always recommend careful supervision when feeding snacks and meals.
How are Amara smoothie melts different?
Amara organic smoothie melts contain no added sugar. Other brands often use added sugar to create a melt-in-mouth feel, with some up to 8 grams of added sugar per bag!
Are the smoothie melts messy?
Amara toddler smoothie melts aren’t a messy snack per se, but as you surely know, toddlers can turn anything into a mess! If you have a particularly drooly little one, you might see the melts’ natural, bright coloring; and if you’re out in the heat, the melts may soften and smudge.
Do smoothie melts contain any allergens?
Our Carrot Raspberry and Mango Carrot organic smoothie melts both contain organic coconut milk, and coconuts are tree nuts.
The Berries n’ Beets organic smoothie melts contain dairy (yogurt).
Is there added sugar?
No way! We would never, ever do that. :)

Do you have any sales or discount codes?

Is there a way to sample your product before buying it?
At this time we are unable to offer product samples, though we do offer several variety packs which all include a range of different flavors.
Can I combine discount codes?
Customers can use a single discount code for each purchase, and promo codes are valid for one-time purchases only (promotional codes and discounts cannot be combined with subscription orders).
Do you have a subscription option?
Yes! Simply choose the Subscribe & Save option when you add an item to your cart. You can opt to cancel anytime.
How do I cancel my order?
Please reach out if you need help with anything throughout the order process.
How do I cancel my subscription?
You may easily modify, pause, or suspend your subscription at any time by accessing your personal Shopify account via our website. Please don’t hesitate to reach out if you need help making adjustments! If you opt to cancel your subscription for any reason, we’d love to hear why so we can continue to improve.
Shipping, Delivery & Customer Service
After I order online, when will my product ship?
Orders generally ship within three business days. Once your product has shipped, you will receive a separate email with the tracking information.
How long does shipping take?
Domestic shipping typically takes 5-7 business days.
What if my product hasn't arrived by then?
Please allow that USPS may be experiencing shipment delays; if your order appears to be stuck or lost in transit, kindly contact our customer service team and we’ll be glad to help resolve the issue.
Do you offer expedited shipping?
At this time we do not have an option for expedited shipping; however if you contact us prior to placing your order, we will do our best to try to accommodate your request!
Do you accept returns?
We are unable to accept returns for food products, however if you are dissatisfied with your order for any reason, please reach out to let us know so we can put things right. If any part of your order arrives damaged, please contact us within three days of receipt with the following information and we will gladly replace the relevant product(s):
- Order number
- Damaged product item description and photo
- Condition of damaged product upon arrival
- Date package was received

My TWINkie grandchildren can’t get enough
The TWINkies love these snacks. I have so much fun when I visit them and sit around and let them snack on these. They definitely get upset when the bag becomes empty. Definitely puts a smile on my face.
